Good and bad news

IMG_1238.JPG

Just a short post before I leave for holiday. I'm in the middle of packing, starting to panic, thinking if I have everything I should have, going through 'packing list' over and over again, etc.

This is in English because the inspiration comes from one of lectures I had within NOVUM Afklaringsforløb FOKUS PÅ EKSPORT. All was in Danish, apart from one lecture by a British guy who during his speech about 'how to find a job in Denmark if you are a foreigner', talked about the two pieces of news all newcomers to Denmark have to face. And this is all about Denmark, I'm telling you. So a foreigner comes here and there is a person who approaches him and says: 'Hej, as you've come here, I have those two pieces of news for you, good and bad. Which one do you want first? Good one, of course. Ok, the good one is - the Danes will leave you alone. Wow, great, what about the bad one. Well, the Danes will leave you alone.'

Although the Danes are really nice and fun people, they are also known for this specific type of reserved attitude. The longer I am here, the more visible is this 'politically-correct' approach. I hope to write more about it, when I have more material gathered, more examples.

And for now - vi ses, Danmark, I'm going to chase summer. The best I can have here is an never-ending spring.

This is not specific for Danes the same type of reserved attitude I have met in Sweden. I think all Scandinavians are similar. By the way I like such kind of people:)
